Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!

It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.

This is legitimately my job, I string pearls 40 hours a week. I cannot help but overanalyze every piece of media that includes a pearl necklace. I have gone on long rants about Martha Wayne.

Okay, so necklaces are either knotted or straight strung. Straight strung doesn't have knots separating the pearls, so there is more tension on the pearls and it's bad for them over time, but it is cheaper and looks fine in short term. So yeah, most rich people knot their pearl necklaces. There is one exception: sometimes we have a super picky Karen-type that demands their necklace with really fucking expensive pearls be straight strung because they like the look better. Properly knotted necklaces have nearly invisible knots so this is just batshit demands, btw.

So, that leaves two options: either you chock this up to comics folks not knowing anything about pearl necklaces or, the funnier option being that Martha Wayne is just one of those people that makes the most unhinged demands to feel in control and powerful.

i get that i can expect to see the “unreality” tag a lot on my stuff. i post a lot of weird eldritch shit and even when i post something that isn’t it’s still deeply steeped in my nonsense.

but i’m fucking losing my mind at how even my posts that are correct and true will be tagged that. fatal incuriosity is inescapable when you’re me.

i’m sorry but maybe you’re not the best watchdog for what’s real and what isn’t, champ. i think being the arbiter of reality requires at least a basic understanding of 3d space.

the average blockbuster carried about 3x as many films than that that are streaming on Netflix or any other streaming service, physical media along with piracy is more important than ever.

I thought this wasn’t true, because how could it be true? How could one small store have more movies than an online database? So I googled it.

I am surprised and depressed to learn it’s 100% true, according to google. A Blockbuster store was required to have a minimum of 7000 titles, but most averaged about 10,000. Netflix has 4000 movies. (And 1800 tv shows if you want to count those, but even included, it’s still less)

Now I’m even more depressed about the collapse of physical rental stores.
